A practical reference for designing, publishing, operating and troubleshooting surveys.

Introduction

This user manual explains how to create, test, publish, distribute and manage a survey without exposing server-administration details.

Start with First steps for one guided workflow. Use this manual for practical question design, multiple answers, drafts, previews, delivery, sharing, dashboard results and common user-facing problems.
FIRST STEPS

Inline Survey Editor guide

Create a draft, test it, activate the locked version, then manage responses from its private dashboard.

1. Choose a starting point

Choose New for a blank survey or template, or open the AI assistant. Community event is a useful learning template because it includes choices, a scale, inputs, a checkbox and a multiple-answer question. A template is copied once and remains fully editable.

2. Write and connect

Edit the introduction and story paragraphs. Insert each question marker at the exact phrase respondents should select. Choose one answer for mutually exclusive options and enable Allow multiple answers only when several options may genuinely apply.

3. Set the respondent experience

Choose the respondent language, layout, appearance and accent. Decide whether to show an approximate duration and a print button. Download JSON when you want a portable editable backup; ordinary drafts otherwise stay in this browser.

4. Validate and test

Resolve every Validation item. In live and Full preview, answer all questions, select several multiple-answer options, skip optional questions, edit answers, reload, reset and submit. Check both desktop and mobile widths.

5. Publish and activate

Choose Database, Email or Database + email according to whether dashboard responses and exports must remain available. Send the activation email and open its private link. The still-open wizard may need a few seconds to display the confirmed state.

6. Distribute

Use the hosted respondent link, download the standalone HTML, or use both. Public survey settings can add availability dates, a readable address, an access code, a QR code and website sharing. Do not edit the generated HTML manually.

7. Manage safely

Keep dashboard access private. Use the dashboard to review retained responses, statistics and exports, pause temporarily or close permanently. Open in editor inspects a published survey; its first content change creates a separate draft version.

Clear local drafts and editor data?

This removes drafts, editable copies, saved addresses, preview state and interface preferences from this browser only. Published surveys, responses and access on other devices are not deleted.
